Raul Villalobos grew up on the Southside of Chicago and saw firsthand how unevenly the legal system could treat people. That experience pushed him toward law school at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned his degree in 1974 with one goal: stand up for people who couldn't stand up for themselves.
He started his career as a Cook County State's Attorney, trying cases from day one and eventually becoming head felony prosecutor at 26th and California, one of the busiest courthouses in the country. After trying hundreds of bench and jury trials, Raul opened his own practice on the Southside, handling criminal defense, family law, and real estate law before co-founding a firm focused on business litigation for large corporations.
Over more than four decades, Raul has represented thousands of clients as a criminal defense attorney, civil litigation attorney, and real estate attorney, including high-profile cases covered throughout Chicagoland. In 2007, he and his trial team secured not-guilty verdicts for every defendant charged in the E2 tragedy, a case that tested his skill as a trial lawyer under intense public scrutiny.
Mark Villalobos grew up hearing his father's stories about car accidents, drug busts, and courtroom battles across the city. He tagged along to crime scenes, snapping photos later used at trial, and developed an early appreciation for how much preparation goes into a winning case.
Mark earned his degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2015. While in law school, he worked as a law clerk at the firm, handling breach of contract cases, real estate transactions, and felony trials, and discovered his own passion for litigation and courtroom technology.
One of Mark's first jury trials as an attorney was a murder case he'd spent over a year preparing as a law clerk, reviewing surveillance footage, phone records, and gang research. The jury returned a not-guilty verdict in under two hours. Since then, Mark has tried cases across nearly every division in Cook County, from felony criminal trials to civil bench trials, and now leads much of the firm's eviction and landlord tenant attorney work.
